The RI Council for the Humanities is having its Celebration of the Humanities on Monday, Oct 18:
Join us for a Night of Curiosity on Monday, October 18th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, at Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket. The Celebration of the Humanities is an annual event for honoring excellence and creativity in the humanities and raising the critical funds that enable RICH to support and develop programs that inspire and support intellectual curiosity and imagination in all Rhode Islanders.
Two awards are presented annually: the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Tom Roberts Prize. This year we will honor the nationally recognized award-winning singer, songwriter, and storyteller Bill Harley with the 2010 Honorary Chairs’ Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Humanities. The 2010 Tom Roberts Prize celebrates Richard Kazarian, historian, antiques dealer, and civic provocateur.
You can get tickets online here, or by calling 273-2250.
