Okay, let’s give this a try. Seven clubs have been given permission to stay open until 3am so that the drunken crowds will disperse more slowly into downtown streets on weekend nights. The Providence Police, city club owners and various city officials have been planning this for a while and this weekend they’re going to give it a try. According to the Friday ProJo these clubs,
. . . will continue to admit no new patrons after 1am and shut off serving alcohol at 2am. For the first phase, which debuts this weekend, Club Heat, Mirabar, Colosseum, Ultra, Karma, Level II and Roxy will be allowed to stay open until 3am, the city Board of Licenses decided at a public hearing Thursday.
(And unless you are actually Frank Sinatra, the bartenders won’t want to hear your little stories at quarter-to-three.)
