Gotta say I agree with Drew — I saw the painted lines today and my first thought was woohoo a bike lane, but then I realized I wouldn’t feel any safer riding in that lane! More power to ya if you think that makes things safer, but I don’t see it.
Ugh. These lanes should be on the outside between sidewalk and parked vehicles. Not in between possibly getting doored and/or run over at the same time with no barrier or safer landing spot for cyclists. Just because we have a white line painted on the street doesn’t make it safer for either cyclists or motorists.
