If you see crazed people running around this weekend with cameras, lights, costumes, extension cords, wigs, fake blood, coffee, and maybe megaphones, just get out of the way. Tonight at 6pm the teams participating in the 2012 48 Hour Film Project will head over to the RIFC offices in the Pawtucket Visitors’ Center, get their assignments, and then they’re off. The teams will be given a list of specific elements — a prop, a character, and a line of dialogue — that must be shoehorned into the film. Then they run around the state making a movie, and then they return the completed product back to the RIFC offices at 7:30pm Sunday, sharp!
And you can see the results for yourself. Premiere screenings will be held July 17, 18, 19 at Cinemaworld in Lincoln, $10, 7pm and 9:30pm. A trophy will be awarded to the best film which will then go on to represent Rhode Island in the national competition. Go here for the screening schedule.
