Join ‘Ocean State Action’ and Rhode Island ‘Jobs with Justice’ for a Labor Day rally and march. Meet on the Main Green at Brown University and then march downtown to the financial district. (Facebook)
Join us on Labor Day as we stand with SEIU janitors at a rally at noon at Brown University’s Main Green. As an owner and tenant of many downtown buildings, Brown is a major player in the contract negotiations that influence the working conditions of all the janitors and service workers who keep our city running. We will then march downtown to the financial district to hear from the broader ‘Jobs with Justice’ coalition and the importance of solidarity in the fight of the working class.
This Labor Day, we will celebrate the sacrifices that hard working people make to fight for a better life for themselves and their children. Janitors organizing for an improved wage and working conditions will join with union members, immigrant workers and community members.
Noon to 3pm, Monday, September 3, Brown University, Main Green (Waterman Street at Brown Street)
