The Department of Environmental Management has declared Thursday, July 18, an Air Quality Alert Day. Ditto for Friday, July 19th.
The DEM warns that people should limit outdoor exercise and stay in air conditioning when possible, particularly in the early evening. Elevated ozone levels can aggravate asthma and other respiratory aliments. The children, elderly and people who have underlying lung diseases, such as asthma, are at particular risk.
So nobody exercise. Also, all RIPTA regular fixed-routes, excluding special services, will be free.
