Haven Brothers Movie Premiere At Columbus

Haven Brothers (6.7) Tickets still available for the premiere of “Haven Brothers: Legacy of the American Diner” — the story of the oldest operating diner on wheels — Saturday night at the Columbus Theatre.

Diners, which began in Providence in the late 1800s, were initially all on wheels. Haven Bros. is the last survivor of this tradition of late night lunch carts and the oldest continually operating diner on wheels in the world.

The film centers around the fact that, in the 1980s, Haven Bros. was almost lost to the “modernization” of Providence. The diner was moved from its reserved parking spot next to Providence City Hall, and this was considered blasphemy to its loyal followers.

Brown Paper tickets go here. The Columbus bar is cash only, with ID.

$15 door, 7pm, Saturday, June 7, Columbus Theatre, 270 Broadway
