Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular From A To Z

The annual Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular is up at the Roger Williams Park Zoo.

The 2014 presentation, titled “Jack-O-Lanterns from A to Z,” will delight new and repeat visitors alike. Scenes filled with intricate pumpkin art will be arrayed in alphabetical order, with highlights from history and popular culture. For example, D is for dinosaur, F is for fantasy, H is for Horoscope, J is for jungle, T is for famous thinkers, and so on. Another section will honor inspirational figures such as Princess Diana and Nelson Mandela.

Adults with no children and no jobs should aim for weekday nights after 8:30pm-ish and avoid the crowds. Plus it’s cheaper during the week — $12 for adults. (On weekends adults pay $16.) When to go?

Through November 2, 6pm to 11pm, with the last admission at 10pm. On Saturdays, admission will be extended an hour, with the last admission at 11pm, and the trail closing at 12am.

Through November 2, RWP Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, (directions)
