Send the others home, we have our Ophelia. Don’t miss ‘100 Ways an Old Artist Can Die’ at the AS220 main gallery. Artists include
John Kotula & Pop Icon, Munko McFunko, Wayne Quackenbush, Casey Weibust, Raymond Beausejour, Mariellen Dodge, Davey Langworthy, Debby Drew, Ariel Rose Bodman, Amber Kelley Collins, Janice Bray, Jesse Golding, Greg Barnes, Jill McLaughlin, Peter Harvey, Ricky Gagnon, Em Flynn, Natalie Squillante, Stephen Brownell and others
Of particular interest is the collaboration between artist John Kotula and photographic artist Raymond Beausejour. Their elaborate and painstaking reenactments of instantly recognizable old masters — The Death of Marat, Judith and Her Maidservant — are quite extraordinary. These tableaux vivants are all the more engaging because John Kotula has taken the starring role in each one . . . yes, even in Millais’s Ophelia.
