(9.11) [MotB will be held on Friday this week due to rain. BC]
This one is beyond my purview. I have enjoyed puppet movies in the past — Team America: World Police comes to mind — is this sort of like that one? I just missed the whole Muppet thing at every juncture, but people love ’em! Even cranky old Vincent Canby of the New York Times,
“The Muppet Movie” is the last word in “road” pictures, being the story of Kermit’s crazy cross-country trip to Hollywood, much of it in the company of Fozzie the Bear, who drives not well but often..”Ah,” says Fozzie as they go swerving down life’s highway, “a bear in his natural habitat! A Studebaker!”
An incredible cast includes Dom DeLuise, Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, Milton Berle, Orson Welles, Steve Martin, and Richard Pryor among others.
Rated G. Running time 95 minutes.
