Artist Nick Cave At Brown

(10.18) No, not the bad seed. MASS MoCA artist Nick Cave will give a free lecture tonight in Martinos Auditorium of the Granoff Center (the Brown arts building that looks like it’s partially draped in a giant set of slightly askew window blinds).

Nick Cave is an artist, educator and dancer whose work involves sculpture,
installation, video, sound and performance. He is known for his Soundsuits, intricately made wearable sculptural forms, and his work is included in major museum collections across the country. He will be joined onstage by Denise Markonish, curator at MASS MoCA, who oversaw his monumental installation Until (2016-17). Cave’s presentation is the inaugural event of the BAI’s new Warren and Allison Kanders Lecture Series. Presented by the Brown Arts Initiative.

Nick Cave in Conversation, free, 5:30pm, Wednesday, October 18, Granoff Center, 154 Angell Street, (directions)
