(8.17) Job seekers wanted. A full lighting of Saturday’s WaterFire will be preceded by the 2nd annual TechFire Job Fair at 6pm on Steeple Street. Lighting sponsor Virgin Pulse issued this statement.
Virgin Pulse is proud to once again be the lead sponsor of #TechFire at WaterFire, a celebration of Rhode Island’s burgeoning technology community and the significant impact it has on the economic growth and vibrancy of our state. This 2nd annual event will include prominent guest speakers from across the technology industry, a job fair featuring both established tech companies and startups that are actively hiring in Rhode Island, and a chance to network with executives, entrepreneurs, community leaders, local university officials, and other influencers who are driving the future of our state’s technology ecosystem.
Martial Arts Festival starting at 5pm on the Waterplace Park Basin Stage. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art.
Also prior to sunset, check out a WaterFire Walking tour. Tours begin at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm; book now by making a reservation. For a donation of $15 registrants will walk the length of the canal with a tour guide and land at the basin just in time for lighting.
Your regular WaterFire favorites are on the schedule: Starry, Starry Night; fire dancers, the origami master Andrew Anselmo; and sidewalk astronomy learning lab on the riverwalk near College Street.
