(12.7) ‘Cardboard Pancakes’ is the name of the annual holiday art sale at New Urban Arts. After ten years, the name remains a mystery. We like it that way. (Facebook event.)
Join us for our 10th annual Cardboard Pancakes Holiday Art Sale at New Urban Arts! Yes, the mystery of the name is charming.
I’ll just mention that in December 2010 I shopped at a charming popup market on Chapin Avenue, staged entirely in the upstairs apartment of some local artists of my acquaintance connected with NUA. All the furniture was wrapped over in Kraft paper, to foreground the handmade merchandise. The event was called “cardboard pankakes”. There may have been some, as snacks.
