(7.13) Providence Public Library will hold a free electronic recycling drop-off event at the library from 2pm to 5pm on Wednesday. Items may be brought to the library’s back lot during drop-off times (corner of Greene and Fountain Streets).
Bring your computers, monitors, laptops, servers, hard drives, PDAs, cell phones, mice, keyboards, printers, toner cartridges, networking equipment, CD/DVD players, wires, stereo equipment, telephones, televisions, microwaves, and other electronic gadgetry regardless of age or condition. Anything with a wire!
Also accepted: lead acid auto/marine batteries and battery backups. A $10 disposal fee is charged for laser-jet printers, mini-fridges, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers/other coolant-containing appliances.
Not accepted: light bulbs, disposable/single use batteries, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, VCR tapes or CD/Floppy disks, hazardous materials such as paint and broken TV tubes.
Organizers state that Indie Cycle, LLC, has a zero landfill policy and does not remarket any hard drives or data storage devices. All electronic materials are transferred to ORS a local, R2 certified recycler for processing.
Reminder: Take your items to the back lot at the corner of Greene and Fountain Streets.
