(11.1) Bach to the Future, the all-night Bach marathon returns for the 11th annual collaboration between Community MusicWorks and local musicians working around town (you’ll many familiar names). The event starts at 7pm, Friday, and runs to 7am, Saturday morning, at Brown University’s Manning Chapel. You don’t have to commit to the entire evening. Attendees can come and go — just be considerate. Make your move between the acts; you’ll see how it’s done. And snack quietly.
This unique event creates a space for musicians of all types to interpret and explore the music of J.S. Bach, using both classical and non-traditional/experimental approaches. Admission to this event is free. Bring a blanket and pillow, and come and go as you please. Coffee will be brewing courtesy of the local shop, the Coffee Exchange, and we will celebrate midnight with pasta!
They have posted a somewhat confusing schedule on Facebook. The IG page has only part of the schedule.
Free admission, 7pm, Friday, November 1, Manning Chapel, 21 Prospect Street, (directions)
