Coat Exchange — State House Lawn

(11.29) The annual Buy Nothing Day Coat Exchange takes place this Friday on the State House lawn, the side facing the train station and mall. For more than 25 years, Buy Nothing Day has set up here the day after Thanksgiving to provide coats and warm winter gear to those who need it — no questions asked. They will also be collecting new, unopened socks and underwear.

From a warm winter coat to a new pair of socks, our mission is to make sure everyone has the items required for basic dignity.

Whether taking a coat or donating one, you’ll always be met with a smile.

In the event of rain the event will take place in the Gloria Dei Church at 15 Hayes Street, one block away. Check FB for updates.

Last minute donations can be dropped off through the end of business on Wednesday at the Hot Club on Bridge Street.
