(10.4) Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea is reminding Rhode Islanders that they have until Sunday, October 4, to register to vote or update their voter information for the November 3 general election. What are you waiting for?
You can register online at the Secretary of State’s Voter Information Center right up until midnight on Sunday night.
Secretary of State spokesman Nick Domings added that if you are mailing it in, “Any registration form postmarked prior to 10/4 will be accepted.” Asked for clarification on that date he added, “Is there mail on Sundays? I didn’t think there was, but if a registration is postmarked on Sunday 10/4 it would be accepted.”
The local in-person voter registration drop-off location in Providence on Sunday: The Public Safety Complex, 325 Washington Street, from 1pm to 4pm.

And if you don’t get this done and suddenly it’s November 3rd?
Rhode Island allows for same day voter registration for the Presidential Election only. If you miss the voter registration deadline, you can register to vote on Election Day, but you will only be able to vote for President and Vice President. You will not be able to vote in any state, local, or other federal races. You can only register and vote on Election Day at the location designated by your local board of canvassers.
