State Beaches Open

Except for Scarborough South for some reason. It will open in June. All relevant info and FAQ can be found on the State Beach Passes page. A beach being open means three things: lifeguards are on duty; the amenities are open; and you have to pay for parking.

Parking at RI state beaches no longer requires a physical pass, instead your vehicle’s license plate will serve as your credential to enter state beach parking lots. Beach attendants use hand-held devices to scan the front license plate for information and anyone who buys their pass online or before heading to the beach can use express lanes for quick entry. Simply go to the website and fill out the form to create your beach parking pass account.

Seen here is Roger Wheeler State Beach.

Protected from Block Island Sound by an extensive breakwater barrier, this is a popular beach for young children and families due to the gentle surf, playground, and modern beach pavilion with a kid-friendly environmental educational area.

Go here for real-time status of parking lots. Beachy weather is expected on Monday, so this could be an issue. Just saying.
