The RISD Seniors Graphic Design show, “Here for Now,” remains up through April 1st. It’s hard taking a photo of this show that doesn’t just look like posters on a wall, because it is mostly posters on a wall. But there is so much more to see here . . . that is equally hard to photograph. I fell in love with this particular poster featuring an alphabet fashioned out of beverage can stay-tabs. (I can not find the name of the artist. Ironically, the usual wall texts were difficult to sort out among all the other “stuff” on the wall. I am not judging; this category is hard to curate with clarity.) Go here for images of this current show.
Next up: Painting 2, April 4-8. Then Textiles, April 11-15. The opening receptions are held on the prior Thursday evening and are also open to the public. But they are lively, crowded affairs for the students, friends, and faculty. It’s not ideal for viewing and I leave it to the artists.
Gallery hours: Monday, 10am to 5pm/ Tuesday, 10am to 4pm/ Fri-Saturday, 10am to 5pm/Sunday, 2pm to 5pm.
The weather now allows for setting a spell in the chairs outside on the terrace. The daffodils are coming on.
