[Canceled. BC]
Remember this? Neither do I. What was I doing? In 2002 the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier was the canvas for this light projection/installation — Steel and Light. Artistic director Barbara Macaulay and technical director Robert Hogan have returned with a new show, shifting their attention to that numinous temple to finance, the Old Stone Bank on South Main Street.
Lushly gorgeous and provocative images, some 36 ft. wide, from the work of Rhode Island artists, will move across the face of the historic Old Stone Bank Building, draping it in color and mystery. The installation celebrates Rhode Island’s place in the arts and the City’s 375th Anniversary. The sidewalks, plazas, and lawns of Memorial Park and South Main Street will become the viewing areas, with the Providence riverwalks and downtown just steps away, where the images of Steel and Light: Landscapes of the Mind will form a moving and surreal backdrop.
Funded by the City of Providence Department of Arts, Culture and Tourism and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts with production support by Brown University.
Canceled, 7:30pm to midnight, Saturday, October 15, Old Stone Bank, South Main Street

PS – it’s a shame it was cancelled. I would have loved to see that.
Thanks Beth! It’s fine to leave it up, and thanks for using it. I love your site and am proud to have you use my work.
Mea culpa! I don’t believe they ever used your image, I did that. I have edited the post to give you credit and link to your site; OR, I can pull the image down. Your call. Big apologies.
Hi there,
I believe the photo of the Old Stone Bank building was taken by me (here’s the link to my photo on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/boliyou/4570386861/). Your photo credit to Hogan/Macaulay Architects doesn’t have a link. Would you mind emailing it to me at iheartrhody [at] gmail? I’d like to see if they’ve credited me on their site.
Thanks very much.
