Over the course of the past year, Providence Community Library (PCL) began a program of volunteer-taught English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. The program was wildly successful and was much appreciated by all who participated. ESL classes are always in demand, and PCL was thrilled to be able to offer then to the community free of charge. However, in order to continue through next fall, we need more volunteers.
All support, materials and training are provided by PCL, and the only requirements for volunteering are that you:
- Speak English
- Enjoy helping people
- Are willing to commit two hours per week of your time.
There will be two training dates this summer: August 21, 5:30pm to 7:30pm, and September 4, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at South Providence Library, 441 Prairie Avenue.
