Geeks Dinner At ICERM

ICERM (5.23) What goes on up there? I bet they’re computing. Join the Providence Geeks for the May dinner at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM) and maybe sort of find out. This is not for the faint of brain.

Professors George Karniadakis and Jeffrey Hoffstein will give us a double header of talks. Professor Karniadakis will present on the topic of how math and supercomputers are powering virtual biomedicine, and Professor Hoffstein will give a talk called “Math + Cryptography = $$? A funny thing happened on the way to the bank”.

The dinner is being sponsored by Betaspring (I wonder what they could have done with $75 million).  More details of the dinner at Greater City: Providence. And check out the photos at the ICERM website; the interiors, the views! And I love that they still have a few real blackboards with real chalk. (They are covered with equations like when Klaatu was trying to impress the Professor.)

Providence Geeks May Dinner, 5:30pm to 8:30pm, Wednesday, May 23, ICERM, 121 South Main Street
