Hard Nips At Dusk

hard nips vinyl (10.16) Straight outta Brooklyn. . . the Hard Nips. Here’s how they describe themselves:

Emi, Yoko, Mariko, and The Gooch are four Japanese girls who laugh and yell at each other all the time. About two years ago they harmonized their varied subconscious musical hauntings to form Hard Nips. The riff-heavy, post-punk anthems of Hard Nips coalesce from jabbing, overdriven guitar and bass lines, big straight beats, and Yoko’s prepubescent strainings. (Go here for the rest of the story, including how Emi broke her hi-hat leg.)

The true meaning of the band name is made clear when the girls toss handfuls of Nestle Nips into the crowd. (Recommendation: Duck, they are actually pretty hard.) These gals are pretty cute and they rock hard and it will be fun.

With Ravi Shavi and Alpha Owl.

$5, 9pm, Tuesday, October 16, Dusk, 301 Harris Avenue, 21+
