Food Trucks

sugarush The Providence Phoenix has a comprehensive rundown of the Providence food truck scene — from sliders to escargot to vegan soft serve — including all the Twitter tags. (What perfect technological synergy. Twitter was made for the food truck business . . . and the violent overthrow of brutal dictators.) Also of interest is a newish website, Food Trucks In, created by a Johnson & Wales alum. Travelers around the country can plug in their location and  get a list of nearby food trucks.

Food Truck Tuesdays are held at Grant’s Block (kinda on the Weybosset Street side). Poco Loco Tacos and Noble Knots (pretzel bread!) seem to be the mainstays there. And various trucks line up on Sundays at the Providence Flea.

Seen here is the lovely Erica of Sugarush (cupcakes), who by day is a rare book repair and conservation technician over at Brown University. She mixes her frosting “with a refurbished tangerine orange KitchenAid mixer.”
