(5.28) Stop by What Cheer Records and Vintage this Sunday to share memories and wish owners Jennifer and Chris Daltry all the best as they move into the future. (For now they will continue to sell their wares online at Discogs and Etsy. Who knows what comes next.)
Sunday may be a little crazy. But it will be fun . . . not sad! The owners are actually in a pretty good place about all this — it’s the employees that are feeling adrift and weepy. From the Facebook event page:
After 18 years as a retail shop, What Cheer Records + Vintage is closing and moving everything to the internet and our events. but before we go, we want to celebrate the shop and Thayer Street‘s history with an all-day local music bash.
By 5.28 we hope to have everything moved out of our space, so stop by before then for discounted purchases that’ll help lighten our load.
So this event will be a little different from the many in-store parties they have thrown in the past — the space should be emptied out by then. Or mostly. I don’t even know. The event will be sponsored by Narragansett Beer with musicians performing live in-store:
Kate Mick, Alec K. Redfearn and the Eyesores, Reindeer, Cotton Candy, Detroit Rebellion, Barn Burning, Chris Monti, Daphne Lee Martin, Wyatt Lema, Bill Keough, Harvey Garbage, and more!
In the meantime, get in there for the incredible sales! 50% off everything used! 30% off all the new and online records! You will be helping to move all that heavy vinyl out of the store . . and into your life.
