Bumper Cars On Ice!

Finally, a winter sport for the ankle-impaired. Actually, these ice bumper cars can be adapted for summer use as well. This will be a year-round attraction. Andy Smith of the Providence Journal took a spin today and spoke with the Mayor.

“I can’t wait. This is the most exciting thing we’ve done since I’ve been mayor,” said a beaming Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza. He said his experience goes back to his youth, when he would smack into his cousin on the bumper car ride at Rocky Point.

Suits on ice! Check out the video with the mayor’s entourage spinning and bumping, and the rink manager gives lessons on joystick manipulation. It looks like a blast. And actually, you can wear a suit if you want.
