Jane’s Walks — Weekend

Walk this way! Doors Open RI invites the public to explore Providence neighborhoods on foot during Jane’s Walk, a global weekend festival on May 6-8, inspired by the great urban activist Jane Jacobs. And they are free.

These interactive walks are led by local residents and community activists who share stories that get people thinking, talking, and connecting with each other. Jane’s Walks are free, and anyone can participate. Wear comfortable shoes, meet your walk leader in the designated meeting spot, and get ready for a lively discussion.

Locations around Providence include: the Orchard Avenue temple and church; Locust Grove Cemetery; places associated with Providence’s LGBTQ history; the RISD campus (where you might see the stretch of sidewalk pictured here); as well as “Understanding the experience of walking without sight.”

Check back for updates; more walks may become available. More at FB.

All walks are free . . .  rain or shine . . . no tickets needed.
