(7.3) The city’s annual Independence Day Celebration at India Point Park will return this Sunday, July 3, for the first time since 2019. Fireworks: 9pm to 9:45pm.
The main stage kicks off at 7pm with a live performance show curated by vocalist and steel drummer, Becky Bass. The event will also feature the Blackout Drum Squad.
Be aware of the city’s plans for managing traffic and parking:
- There will be restricted parking along India Street. India Street will be closed after 8am from Newport Ferry Landing to the I-195 off-ramp.
- India Street will be one-way (South then West) from Point Street along South Main under the I-Way Bridge underpass West to the Hilton Garden Inn (Gano Street).
- India Street/Gano Street exits off I-195 East will be closed from 8am to 11pm.
And leave your dog at home please.
Alternate plan: Pawtucket has announced fireworks for the same date and time at McCoy Stadium.
