It’s Craft Beer Week

The second annual RI Craft Beer Week runs now through March 12th with new releases, tastings, food trucks, special dinners, bingo, and craft events. Gail Ciampa has all the details of this statewide event at the ProJo.

All during Craft Beer Week, you can do one or two beer crawls, or even the Rhode Map Challenge, which requires you to visit all 36 participating breweries and brewpubs. Download the RI Brewery Passport, complete the visits and you are entered to win prizes.

“One of the many benefits of living in Rhode Island is that you can travel basically anywhere in the entire state in under an hour,” said Gary Richardson, executive director of the RI Brewers Guild.

Events in the Providence area include:

Monday, March 6, 7pm to 9pm: “Name Your Beer” Trivia night at Narragansett Brewing. The winning team will get to name a new beer at the 271 Tockwotton Street taproom.

Tuesday, March 7, 7pm: Bayberry Beer Hall, 381 West Fountain Street, hosts a beer dinner featuring Long Live Beerworks. The cost is $90 for this ticketed event.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, March 10, 11, and 12, 11am, “Brunch in the Valley” at Revival Brewing at Lost Valley Pizza Brewpub at 50 Sims Avenue.

Saturday, March 11, noon to 10pm, the 6th anniversary party at The Guild Pawtucket Beer Hall  461 Main Street, Pawtucket.

(This photo was taken about four years ago at The Guild in Pawtucket, before Narragansett Brewery had moved into its current location at India Point, a great roomy place with indoor and outdoor seating, a view of the brewing operation, and a female head brewer, Lee Lord!)

Drive safely.
