Tennis At Roger Williams Park

The Providence Tennis Center is using the winter downtime to upgrade and expand its facilities at the Roger Williams Park location. Providence Tennis owner/director Nestor Bernabe shares this news:

For those of you that haven’t heard or seen the Providence Tennis Center at Roger Williams Park there’s a couple new surprises! We have a new Pro Shop and painting and flooring will be done within the next two weeks! I’m extremely excited about this space and everyone will also be surprised that we are currently working on adding a Snack Shack! This will be located in our old pro shop.

While the organization does run indoor winter sessions elsewhere, it’s not too soon to start planning for the warm weather here in the park:

I’m working extremely hard to have our Spring/Summer calendar out and a lot of new programs coming for all our Adult Players. If you would like to play on a USTA Spring/Summer Team for Women’s 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 teams as well as our Men’s 3.0 and 3.5 teams please let me know ASAP! I do have Captains for our women’s squads and if any guys want to step up and captain a men’s squad please let me know.

I don’t play so I don’t know what any of that means.

These courts are located just in from the park’s Broad Street entrance which may be more convenient for some. Plenty of parking.

I stopped by yesterday. Opportunities for creating an inviting tennis photo were nonexistent.

(And I would like to thank the helpful young man working on the new pro shop who updated me on the upgrades.)
