‘Taste Of Thayer’

(10.9) This is either a heads-up or a travel advisory depending on your appetite for this sort of thing. Tickets are still available for today’s 4th annual ‘Taste of Thayer’ food festival featuring picnic tables, activities, and live music. Starting at 5pm, Thayer Street will be closed to traffic from Bowen to Angell. Go to the Thayer Street District Management Authority website to purchase tickets (not many details here).

We received no advance notice, which apparently included a list of the participating food locations. ProJo food writer Gail Ciampa has more information (one could hardly have less):

Participating are Antonio’s Pizza, Aroma Joes, Avon Cinema, Bagel Gourmet, Caliente, Flatbread Company Providence, Heng Thai and Rotisserie, In the Pink, Insomnia Cookies, Kabob and Curry, La Crepiere, Mala Noodles, Metro Mart & Deli, Mia Cane, Pokeworks, Shake Shack, Ten One Tea House, Tiger Sugar, Tribos Peri Peri, Yum’s Halal Foods, Zinneken’s Belgian Waffles and Cafe.

Tickets: $25 for adults; $7 for children 10 and under; $20 for students with a current high school or college ID.  Pick up your event wrist band and drink tickets at “Will Call” in front of the Brown Bookstore starting at 4:30pm. Unclear where, or if, tickets will be for sale at the event.

At Instagram organizers promise that “Taste of Thayer will be donating 20% of each ticket purchase this year directly to the RI Community Food Bank.”
