(11.30) Every day should be Small Business Day, but today we make a special note of the people who have had the optimism and courage to go all in. They invest in your community, employ your family and friends, pay local taxes, maintain the brick-and-mortar storefronts that make for a vibrant neighborhood, and offer unique, often locally made, goods.
And you can’t get much smaller than The Matchbox on Brook Street. This is a treasure trove of locally-themed items like tees, mugs and tchotchkes. (We stopped in to Pretty Snake just yesterday. It’s a block down the street.) Matchbox carries the product lines of both Milk Can Industries (printed tees) and Parched (hoodies).
Last year we highlighted POP Emporium, Frog & Toad, and Rhody Craft who are all still there!
So just get out there and show your support, and buy something unique and cool for yourself or for the people on your holiday list.

For grown-ups at Matchbox. I do like that color block hoodie.
