(12.8) Only a few days left for checking out the Textiles Triennial at the Woods Gerry Gallery. The show is packed with everything from apparel to tapestries to wall art. And just inside the door one finds an instructive display: “Material Development for Various Applications” (see below). As a non-artist, I find process fascinating. The courses and techniques included here are hand loom, dobby loom, jacquard loom, industrial knitting, felting, and more.
Featured here is a detail from “Townsfolk,” a silkscreen on cotton by Kara Petrosino (BFA Textiles, ’26).
Go here to see images from the current show.
Gallery hours:
10am to 5pm, Friday & Saturday, December 6 and 7.
2pm to 5pm, Sunday, December 8.
Free, Woods-Gerry Gallery, 62 Prospect Street, (directions)

Some of the more fabulous pieces are difficult to photograph. Take time in front of “Lenticular I” by Isabela Chan. Walk back and forth to see/read it all.
