First things first — admission to the RISD Museum is free all day today. This is part of the opening celebration of the new Chace Center wing with festivities under way as of this writing — music by the Hot Tamale Brass Band followed by (hopefully brief) speechifying. This free admission includes the “Chihuly at RISD” exhibition, but listen up. For that you need to obtain a time-stamped ticket at the hospitality tent in Market Square (across from the Chace Center entrance at 20 North Main Street).
Also on tap:performances at noon, 1:30pm and 3pm by the Inflatable Theatre Company in the RISD Auditorium, and a 5:30pm concert by local rockers Route .44 (Punctuation theirs. Oy… numbered band names. Is it too late to rethink that one guys?).
