ATRAVES Fundraiser (With Nicaraguan Food!)

Eating for a cause.  From ATRAVES Executive Director Brady Dunklee:

ATRAVES is a small nonprofit based in Providence and Managua that does health, education and development work in Nicaragua. They are having their annual dinner and pottery auction Saturday the 23rd in Washington Park, and welcome anyone who wants to learn more about their work. People with an interest in volunteering abroad are especially encouraged to come learn more about the ATRAVES volunteer program.

Host Brady Dunklee is preparing a full Nicaraguan dinner: indio viejo, gallo pinto, tostones, and more. There is a silent auction of ceramics made by artisans who work with ATRAVES. They are asking for $20 or what you can pay for dinner / $10 or what you can pay if you’re not eating. Beer and wine are included.

It’s low-key and casual. 146 Verndale Avenue, Providence 02905. Funds support the efforts of ATRAVES to open a small clinic and health education center in an impoverished Managua community.
