Two-Hour Free Parking At Meters

In an effort to help local businesses get back on their feet, the Mayor has extended the two-hour free parking at meters deal through the end of 2021 in designated commercial corridors. From GoProvidence:

Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza recently announced that the free two-hour parking available in designated Providence commercial districts will continue through Dec. 31, 2021. The free two hours will be offered from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day.

They have a complete list of the designated areas. Westminster Street downtown is included. Seen here are locals avoiding the issue altogether by rolling right up to Civil skate shop.

Free two-hour parking is allowed in legal parking spots only and parking time limits will be enforced. In other words, you are expected to put money in the meter after two hours, or move the car.
