Science Saturdays — RWNM

The folks over at the Roger Williams National Memorial will be creating a “livlie experiment” this Saturday for those in town looking for intellectual enrichment in a beautiful park setting. Join rangers, birders, face painters, the Zoomobile, Rhode Island Black Storytellers, and others for an afternoon of fun. These events are designed mainly for young people, but everyone is welcome. And it’s free.

Join us at the Roger Williams National Memorial . . . you’ll get to learn all about birds, trees, physics, and plants from some amazing organizations like the National Park Service, Providence Parks Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Audubon Society of Rhode Island, Roger Williams Park Zoo, and the Rhode Island Black Storytellers. And don’t forget to get your face painted with your favorite animal and celebrate the wildlife!

No telling what the Zoomobile might have on board. And don’t miss the gift shop; they have a great book selection and some unnique T-shirts. They also feature items specific to the National Park Service mission like those cool passports.

Upcoming Science Saturdays: August 12 and September 9.

Free, 1pm to 3pm, Saturday, July 8, RWNM, 282 North Main Street, (directions)

Say what you will about the rain, the lawns are loving it. The gentleman in the far distance had been mowing back and forth and was finally finishing up. The smell of freshly cut grass is in my Top Ten.
