Once again, Dave Henault has made front page news with an update on his kidney transplant. The surgery, which took place last September, went well and he is now on the road to recovery. Local anglers, friends, and family know how long Dave had been waiting and preparing for this ordeal. (This was the first front page.)
And how cool is his donor, nephew/godson Andrew Reinhardt, who said at the time, “It’s pretty simple math for me . . . I’ve got two good kidneys and one good uncle.” Andrew is also on the mend. Dave — seen here last August with sidewalk superintendent, Prana — must be feeling better; he is taking his annual winter trip to southeast Asia. (How can a Buddhist be a Yankee fan?!) The ProJo reports:
Before the surgery, Henault would typically take a long winter vacation in Vietnam and Cambodia. He was pleased his doctor gave in to his lobbying and told him he could spend 2½ weeks in Asia, starting in January.
