Windows 1.0

Who knew that retail windows would be the thing of 2020? From bait to beer, your quarantine needs can best be handled through a small opening in a wall. (Wear masks.)

We first wrote about the window at Stock Culinary Goods on Hope Street a couple of summers ago when they started dishing out ice cream. The window now opens three days a week to offer other options during these corona times. From their website.

We 100% believe in social distancing and ardently support the message of #staythef$%*home.

. . . That said, we have access to some kinds of groceries and we live in a very dense, family-oriented neighborhood. It is my belief that I can get certain things to you in a highly controlled way that may be preferable to going to a larger grocery store.

From Thursday – Saturday, I offer groceries out of our pickup window. For more on that, check on Grocery & Tool Pick Up Page.

For beer? Gail Ciampa writes about Long Live Beerworks in today’s ProJo:

It was just a year ago that Long Live Beerworks moved its brewery into a 3,500-square-foot space in the renovated Mechanical Fabric Company factory complex on the West Side of Providence.

Brewer Armando DeDona and general manager Jessica deBry, husband and wife, expanded to a two-level space with a 15-seat bar, 18 tap lines, and loft area with tables and views of the production floor.

They wanted to create a comfortable experience that invited people to linger. Now, it’s the drive-through window on Sprague Street that is the MVP of their business. That window is open for pre-order pickups six days a week.

Long Live Beerworks is in an old factory complex on Sprague Street all which connects to the Knead Night Cruller window on Cromwell street. (That was a Friday night thing and it is unclear whether that is still happening. Call ahead.)

You must order ahead at Stock Culinary as well; go here for details. And I love the wooden spoon as anti-burglary device.
