Count me in. Rumors had been swirling for months that Trader Joe’s was planning to open a store somewhere on the reclaimed I-195 land in Fox Point, and it is true! Ward 1 Councilman John Goncalves confirms the news, adding that the project should be completed in October and will include 62 residential units. There is a brief announcement at the Trader Joe’s website, including info about their Neighborhood Shares Program.
Being a neighborhood grocery store is about more than just selling groceries. It’s also about being a good neighbor, in every Trader Joe’s neighborhood. Through our Neighborhood Shares Program, we are able to provide nourishment to our neighbors, every day, in every store. Each of our stores across the country donates 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to be enjoyed to local food recovery organizations, seven days a week.
Sounds good. I hate waste and I’m sure we have people in town who can help with that.
The various reports are including an address which Google maps does not yet recognize. But this is on Parcel 6, bounded by Wickenden Street, South Main, Pike Street, and South Water.
Hooray. There is no longer any reason to deal with Bald Hill Road in Warwick ever again.
